Ethan's Smile

I was making a sandwich the other day for Richard and got some mustard on my finger. Instead of wiping it off on a napkin I licked my finger. Now mind you I HATE mustard but unlike my initial reaction to gag I actually liked it.....It made me start thinking of things that I am grateful for. Although that sounds crazy, it made me really examine some things.
This year I have seemed to get so caught up in what we will be eating for Thanksgiving and what to buy Ethan for Christmas that I had lost sight of what they were both really about. This is so silly but eating that mustard made me realize how grateful I am for the small things that truly enrich our lives. I am grateful for Richard and Ethan. I am grateful for my Mom and Dad and brother and sisters. I am grateful for their families and the close bond we all have. I am grateful for my house and my neighborhood. I am grateful that I can come home and feel safe from the outside pressures. I am grateful for the gospel and for the ability to be forgiven for all the we have done. Last but not least I am grateful for Ethan's Smile because no matter what is going on I can look at Ethan's smile and smile too. It's just one of the small things that I had simply overlooked.

Even with a binkie in he still smiles!

I love this post! First of all, Ethan has such a cute smile! I love it! And second, I totally agree with you on how easy it is to overlook all the small things in life. It's all of the little things that make life so great and I am grateful for them too! Have a great Thanksgiving! :)
